Still not feeling well and home sick from work. Wasn’t feeling particularly ambitious but it feels weird to just be sitting around doing nothing while I hope to get better. My short attention span (yay medication!) made more elaborate stuff impossible but I did draw these little guys over the last few days…

Home sick today. Have been drifting in and out of sleep on the couch. I have been SUPER-mega-cranky all day. I drew these guys to try and cheer myself up. It didn’t work. I think I may need cupcakes. I hate being sick.

Last week a friend and I decided to give each other creative challenges every Friday. She gave me a photograph she took of this fascinating contraption in the woods with no explanation and I am now tasked with doing something creative as a response. I decided to try and draw it using my very, very rusty still life drawing skills… this is the result. I think I need some more practice

Forgot to add this one here back when I drew it. This was the Christmas gift I made for my cousin. I very stupidly forgot to take a photo of it once I coloured it.. but I think I actually really like it as it is here in black and white.

Not really happy with this one at all. The arms are awkward and I totally messed up all the lines when I decided to make them thicker. It looked better in black and white before I thickened any of the lines… Oh well! Live and learn.
I have had a mostly frustrating evening of experimenting with a new style and messing around with ink and a brush. I don’t have anything from the experimenting I want to show anyone else so I decided to draw this little guy… I think some of my frustrating from failed experiments carried over into drawing him… doh…
I’m not that discouraged though. I just need a good nights sleep and I will be back at it tomorrow morning!

Thought I’d slap this up before bed too since I hadn’t uploaded it yet. I did this drawing for my parents which I framed and gave to them for Christmas but then also turned it into printed cards that I gave to over 20 people over the holidays. I drew individual little drawings inside each of them too but never thought to take pictures of any of them.

Finally got around to doing some more drawing tonight. This isn’t quite finished but I am going to bed! I have some other stuff I did over the holidays I could upload but apparently I am being lazy… oh well. Hopefully more to come soon as I slowly get back into the routine of drawing again now that the holidays are over.

As I slowly move towards using bold bright colours. This was a Christmas gift which I have already given. I like how the yellow, red, orange and purples look together. Also, you can’t go wrong with weird looking stripey sock plants…
No new drawings to post tonight (schecretsss!) but I just wanted to note that I absolutely hate the purple marker that I tried to use tonight… its waaay too hard to use without making blotches and stripes all over the place and I wanted to throw it across the room…

I bought some new colours again this afternoon. I really like those two greens together and all the oranges in the frame. The purple was a pain to colour in evenly. Really happy with how this one turned out though. It was an evening well spent drawing, listening to Mirah and daydreaming.
